Customizing the Dashboard
We have turned the Dashboard into a reporting tool, a gateway to access recent work, and a help center all rolled into one clean interface, and it's customizable to boot.
Using the Navigation Tree
The Navigation Tree, located in the left hand pane, represents all pages within your web site and is similar to a site map. Here, you can manage your site’s navigation.
Page Details
Under the Details tab you may enter important data about the page you are authoring. Each of the labels contains helpful text. Hold your cursor over the label for tips on how to enter appropriate content.
Content Editor Guide
The Content Editor in QuantumCMS contains a number of tools that are available in most word processing software, but there are some additional features that may be new to you. Below is a list and brief explanation of the available tools.
Tips on Creating Effective Content
Some tips and tricks to make sure you're using the system to the fullest extent.
Adding a Document Page
The document page type is the default page type and will be used for most pages of your web site.
Adding a File Page
You can link directly to a file (such as a PDF, image, or movie) in your site’s navigation or in your search results by adding a File Page.
Adding a Redirection Page
The redirection page type allows you to create a page within your site that will move a user to another page -- either on your site or another site.
Add Shared Page
The shared page allows you to contain content from one page of your site within another page on your site. As a result, you only have to maintain content on the source page. You can also use a different template on a shared page than the page from which it is using content.
Moving a Page
You can move pages from their current location to another location in the site. This tutorial depicts how to move many pages at once.
Creating an Alias
Adding an alias to a page allows visitors to access that page from an additional address.
Adding a Page Property
Page Properties may be used in a variety of ways by page templates or custom applications. Consult your custom documentation for properties associated with your custom features and applications.
Adding a Linked Page
When built into the template, Linked Pages allow you to display links to and content from other pages within the website.
Adding a Description
When built into the template, Descriptions allow you to add an additional content section in your page.
Managing Files
In QuantumCMS, you can upload files such as images, PDFs, and videos. Using the File Manager, you can view, upload, rename, move, and delete files.
Drafts
A Draft is an unpublished copy of a page in the system. You can manually save a page as a Draft to create a separate version of the page and, if desired, you can replace the current version with the Draft when you have completed edits.
Using Page History
Every time a page is saved, a copy is stored in QuantumCMS. Using the History screen, you can view previous versions, restore a previous version, or create a Draft from a previous version.
Advanced Tutorials
These tutorials address some of the advanced features of QuantumCMS, or features that are generally not a part of basic content management.
