Algonquin Studios Announces the Release of QuantumCMS 4.1

Algonquin Studios is pleased to announce the release of QuantumCMS 4.1, the latest version of its web-based content management system.

QuantumCMS is the software solution for companies that want complete control of their web content to remain in-house. Through its browser-based tools and an easy to use interface, QuantumCMS allows users to easily update information on their web sites without learning HTML. Over time, it helps to increase productivity and reduce the costs usually associated with maintaining a dynamic, compelling online presence. QuantumCMS version 4.1 includes improvements to many of the software's original functionalities as well as exciting new features that are designed to provide immediate performance benefits to its users.

"There's a fresh redesign to the interface for the authoring tool that allows users to quickly access the information they need to update and keep their focus on the tasks at hand," says Algonquin Studios' Product Research and Development Manager, Bill Stewart. "Incorporating some of the latest web technologies keeps the QuantumCMS authoring tool running quickly and smoothly, so keeping your web site up to date is easier than ever."

Improvements to the software include:

• A "Draft" feature allows users to save unpublished copies of pages that can then be published at a later date, allowing users to prepare content updates well in advance, and an "Auto-Save" function means that users won't lose their work should they get interrupted and forget to save any changes they've made.
• A customizable dashboard takes advantage of previously unused space within QuantumCMS, providing users immediate access to reporting tools, recent drafts, and help topics. Users can choose from seven widgets that provide the information most applicable and important to their role in their organization's web site maintenance.
• A redesigned page security interface allows site administrators to more easily assign editing permissions and roles to users within their organization through new features like sortable columns, filtering, and advanced paging options that help contribute to its ease of use.
• "We've created an interface that is more responsive than ever before," says Adrian Roselli, Senior Usability Engineer for Algonquin Studios. "It also looks great and works on a broader range of browsers. Along with these speed and style enhancements, we've also completely rebuilt some screens and menus. All of the changes we've made are based on user feedback and experience."
