Hodgson Russ

For Hodgson Russ, a full-service law firm with attorneys who practice in all major areas of the law, Algonquin Studios was charged with building a new web site, from design to implementation, on QuantumCMS, our content management system.

Because the firm has over 200 attorneys working in seven separate offices, Hodgson Russ' staff uses QuantumCMS to follow an approved work flow that allows people at all levels of the organization to contribute to their web presence. Authors create content, editors review and make necessary changes to that content, and publishers approve and make the content live on the site. QuantumCMS easily manages news, articles, events, attorney biographies, practice areas, and files so that the site remains an easy-to-use resource for employees and clients alike. And because QuantumCMS allows Hodgson Russ to separate the content of their site from the more technical design elements, authors can create consistent pages and in-house designers can quickly alter colors and images on the site without having to rewrite the underlying HTML templates.

QuantumCMS also lets authors create drafts for future use and simply revert to previous versions of a web page should the need arise. Moving forward, if the firm decides to change the look and feel of the web site, relevant content that exists on the Hodgson Russ site now can easily be reused.

The home page of the Hodgson Russ site presents visitors with information on practice areas, industry news, and firm-sponsored events and seminars. All are easily kept up-to-date using QuantumCMS, calling attention to valuable information when it?s most relevant.

Attorney biographies are maintained internally in a central repository that publishes the content to the public web site. The same attorney biography system also drives the content in Adobe Acrobat templates and even into XML so the content can be fed into Adobe InDesign or Quark XPress templates. In this case, the attorney biographies can be fed into any medium Hodgson Russ desires.
