QuantumCMS Version 4 Tutorials
The pages in this section contain basic tutorials for managing content on your QuantumCMS site. Each one has been broken down into a single task represented with demonstration movies. Ideally, tasks can be strung together to perform more complex operations. If there is a task you believe should be represented here, please let us know.
- Using the Navigation Tree
- The navigation tree allows you to access and manage all the pages within your web site. This tutorial gives you an overview of how to use the navigation tree.
- Page Detail Overview
- Each time you create a page in QuantumCMS, you must fill out details of the page besides the body copy. This tutorial reviews each of the fields on that page and offers suggestions on what to enter.
- Add Document Page
- The document page type is the standard page type for pages on your web site. Most pages of your site will be of this type.
- Add File Page
- The file page type allows you to make a page within your web site that loads a file. Without using this page type, you must link to files within the body content of a page, and you cannot have a file appear in the navigation. This page type is also used for creating PodCasts within your site.
- Add Redirection Page
- The redirection page type allows you to create a page within your site that will move a user to another page -- either on your site or another site. The redirection page itself never draws since it immediately moves a user to the address specified when creating the page.
- Add Shared Page
- The shared page allows you to contain content from one page of your site within another page on your site. As a result, you only have to maintain content on the source page. You can also use a different template on a shared page than the page from which it is using content.
- Moving a Page
- You can move pages from their current location to another location in the site. This tutorial depicts how to move many pages at once by utilizing child pages.
- WYSIWYG Editor Tutorials
- A series of Flash-based tutorials covering all the features of the standard WYSIWYG content editor within QuantumCMS.
- Insert Linked Page
- Linked pages are frequently used on the home page and elsewhere to display links to and content from other pages within the website.
- Insert Page Alias
- Adding an alias to a page allows visitors to access that page from an additional address.
- Add Descriptions
- When built into the template, Descriptions allow you to add an additional content section in your page.
- Add Page Properties
- You may store Name and Value pairs used to store site-wide information that can be used by custom features and applications on your web site.
- Managing Files
- Manage files such as images, PDFs, videos and any other files you web site uses. The tool is called the File Manager, and inside it you can view, upload, rename, move, or delete files.
